The elder Marksman were the first to open their eyes. Mallene stood still with her eyes glued shut. She could not see what the elders saw, but deep down she felt anguish and it overtook her. She violently began to shake her head. “Mallene, Mallene!” The Elders tried to grab her arms, but she pulled away screaming. “In all my years…I just don’t believe it.” She continued to back away from the elders. “Move it old woman!”
